View Full Version : Removing vacuum pump
I am in the process of removing the last vacuum controlled accessory on the Wag, so that means I can scrap the vacuum pump (one less thing to fail in the middle of the desert). My accessories are based on a '94 setup. Anyone know what belt I would need to run?
Thanks!

You need a belt off a 93 2500 series truck with the 6.5TD, they had a mechanical wastegate actuator and no vacuum pump, so the belt is shorter. Since your setup is based of the 94 you have similar brackets to the 92-95 setups!

I'm not sure the 93 belt will work. The A/C compressor and alt is mounted differently an the A/c is a different sytle. Bill Heath gave me a number that he says should work on my 96 but I don't have it with me right now. I'll post it tomorrow.
The '93 belt will work up till '95.
'96 and newer already use that belt with the vacuum pump and need a shorter one.
The part number for most brands end in 1010 for the '93 and end in 1020 for use with vacuum pump.
If you have a '96 or newer, you would need it to end in 1000 or maybe 0990 as some have posted about using.
Just removed mine on my 97. It took a 100 inch belt.

The number Bill heath gave me for the 96 was 4061000 which I gess would be a 100" belt.
