Here is my 1992 6.5TD 4x4 pickup.
I bought it as seen with the exception of the nerf bars which I installed.
I have added a Banks Stinger Kit and plan to upgrade injectors and add Turbo master control.
My truck runs very strong and I am very happy with it.
Did I mention I bought it off of E-bay for $3000.00!!!
I have since been offered 7000.00 cash...
But how could I part with such a find that I know will never happen again... :D :D :D

Your picture needs to be hosted on some website somewhere in the world. Then you can click on the UBB Code (tm) is enabled. to the right of the message block while you are posting a message, and scroll down to the section on Displaying Images and follow the directions to get your picture to display using the URL of your image on a website.

http://www.thedieselpage.com/features/lee2000a.jpg

Since I don't have a 92 and up 6.5LTD, this image is just stuck in here as an example.

If you try searching for "free image hosting" with google or other web search, you should be able to find a place.

I have a 1995 GMC 2500 4x4 6.5TD. I found this truck back in March of 2002 in a local dealer's used car backlot. The truck didn't run well at all. It was popping through the intake and could barely move without stalling. Well, anyways I picked up the truck for $2500 and towed it home. I had to replace a push rod and "gut" the catalytic converter and it now runs pretty good. Still has a bit of a knock that I haven't been able to cure yet. I've replaced the lifters and injectors, but the intermittent knock persists.

I bought the truck with 116K on the odo, now have almost 130K. I basically use this truck for my daily driver.

I've done a few mods to the truck:
1. 3-1/2 inch Kennedy Diesel exhaust system.
2. Max-E-Torq performance chip
3. Turbo-Master boost control
4. ISSPro EV Series Boost Gauge/Pyrometer on Dual A-pillar pod
5. Bulldog Keyless Entry system
6. Summer tires: Michelin LTX M/S 265 tires on late model GMC Yukon Aluminum rims
7. Amsoil synthetic diff/tranny/xfer case lubes
8. FSD cooler/PMD extension harness, FSD cooler mounted in front of drivers side battery.
9. Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit with pioneer speakers in doors and rear cab corners
10. Clarion subwoofer mounted front floor center.
11. Oil cooler lines from Lube Specialists (Greg L)
12. 4x4 Front Axle Actuator Upgraded to 98-up style.
13. B&M Shift improver.
14. Increased glow time mod w/ AC-60g glow plugs
15. Amsoil air filter
16. Oil pressure switch/lift pump relay modification.
17. Carr aluminum entry steps.
18. Tekonsha Envoy electronic trailer brake control.

Mods planned yet:

1.Intercooler
2.Timing gear upgrade
3.High capactity cooling mods (water pump/tstat housing)
4. 18:1 CR high performance motor

Here are some Pics of the truck:

Heres a pic of me and my big blue baby as I was picking him up from the dealer.

Since then I have removed the bug deflector, and air dam, replaced the stock wheels and simulators with Aluminum Eagles, and caved in my tailgate whe my boat trailer came off the hitch (long story)

And yes, I am the lard-ass in the picture trying to keep the truck from floating away.

Hi Bobbie,

That is a VERY NEAT installation of the Racor fuel filter on your truck. All 6.5LTD owners should look at your website and consider doing the same. Makes me want to go back and redo mine with Earl's hoses and fittings.

john8662,

Did your wheel caps come with the truck? Does anyone know where I can find a set for 8 lug wheels?

john8662
12-05-2003, 22:31
Spindrift,

Yep, the caps came with the truck like that. Although, they are not on there any more, I put some aftermarket rims on the burb 2 months ago. I am in the process of getting some new pics (too dern cold to wash it and take pics).

You can find them almost all the time in sets with the caps and the plastic lugs on ebay.

Ok then, Here's a picture of the "Beast" and the link also gives you a run down on the improvements. As for the factory items, if it was available, it was ordered (what I'm doing with heated seats in the Florida Keys is beyond me). I've got better pics but not on a website that can be linked to. Enjoy and good luck to one and all.
