Does anyone run an auxillary fuel filter on their 6.5... How many microns is the stock filter rated for??

I do. Racor 30 micron prior to the lift pump. Stock is 5 micron, I believe. I run both. I would like to mount another Racor 2 micron after the lift pump.

i have a racor 2 micron after the lift pump,i was concerned about restriction or working lift pump too hard, but all is good..i have it next to the driver side battery so i can see all that is happening and easy filter changes, would highly recommend it.

I installed a Racor 30 micron just before the lift pump. Had it several years and it works great.

Pannhead, did you ditch the stock filter? If so how did you do it? How would you bleed air from the system if you got rid of the stock [PITA] filter?

i had no choice but to relocate it because the liquid intercooler sits where to "turbo-power" used to be and there was no access..i decided to substitute the factory filter housing for the racor because i believe the factory filter and housing suck...(i beleive alot of air sucking, leaks, and code 36 people get can be attributed to this POS)...the racor i have has a large CLEAR bowl so i can see for possible water etc...as for bleeding simply installed a small valve

I have the Racor R45 on mine before the lift pump. Have had it for 3 or 4 years in that spot. Lift pump works great. I had a 30 micron on it and lst year went to a 2 icron.
