Waste Gate Actuator?

Quick Question. I think my waste gate actuator is going south. These are the symptoms, unusual rattle from turbo under load and 2 - 3 pounds of boost to almost nil. The waste gate arm moves freely and there is plenty of vacumn (not at home to test vacumn pressure). Am I on track?

The actuator rod broke off from the diaphragm on mine one time. Sounds like this could have happened to yours.
