View Full Version : Oil Cooler Connection thread?
I saw some posts on this but couldn't find my answer.
I am replacing my oil cooler lines w/ hydraulic hose & heat protective sleeving. But the local Hydraulic shop I went to did not have anything that would crimp to hose and screw to the cooler itself.
What is this connection? Is it a "-AN" connection if so what size???
Is there a standard adapter to adapt the cooler to a hydraulic type fitting. I think this shop used a "weatherhead" or "weatherpac" crimper.
Or do I have to cut the steel lines and use a compression fitting then adapt to it?

I went though the same search a while back. The Only place I found that had an adaptor from the metric cooler outlets to a standard AN connection was Greg @ http://www.lubricationspecialist.com/ (an advertiser here).
My options boiled down to buying a new cooler(a chance to go bigger) or just buy the adapters from Greg.
In the end, I bought the adaptors from Greg. They come complete with nice stainless steel braded hoses and all the fittings. (The adaptors are not available seperatly) smile.gif
The hoses are plenty long, and it was nice to just get the whole thing in one place, no runnin' back and forth to the hydrolic shop and such. Greg even indicated that he could make up the hoses to custom lengths is needed.
I don't recal the exact cost, but it was so close to what I would spend locally, the kit was too convenient.
Could be UNF 3/4-18 pherhaps if it's the same as I have, had a look on a k3500 -99 with 454, it had the same anyway, also see posts in the 6,2 forum
