No boost

I have a '93 6.5 TD with the TurboMaster. I towed my travel trailer last weekend over Snoqualmie pass and I had no boost. At first I thought maybe the gauge had stopped working, but on top of the pass I pulled over and cranked down the turbomaster a bit and after that I managed to get up to 2 pounds of boost on occasion. EGT's were higher than I've ever seen them - up to 1100 degrees (probe at the turbo downpipe).

How do I check the turbo? Sounds like I might need a new or rebuilt turbo but how will I know for sure? Any ideas?

Have you looked over your intercooler connections? Maybe you have a leak.

Yeah, I looked over the intercooler connections and didn't notice anything obvious; but I didn't spend a lot of time looking. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.

I had to take my wifes Dodge over the mountains this weekend and left the 6.5TD at home until I figure out what's up.

If the turbo is toast, should I replace it with a GM8 or should I find another GM3?
