View Full Version : whats ticking!?!?!?
My dash started ticking a couple days ago in my '94 It is comming from the upper drivers side dash area. Sounds like a relay opening and closing about once a second or so. It's not the horn or turn relays, or even the noise maker attached to the fuse box. Now for the fun part. It seems to do it only in drive going down the road. Seems like it has to be moving for it to happen. At stoplights it slows down a bit, and in Park it wont do it at all. Please tell me that somebody has had this annoying problem before and fixed it!! Thanks!

sounds like a cable, or hose, or something that comes inside the truck from the engine compartment is touching a fuel injector line.

Speedo cable! I've seen (heard) this before. My '77 K5 Blazer did it.
Speedos have been quartz electronic since '91 - VSSB is all digital.
Could be the odometer - mileage indicator is driven by a small electric motor.
May be something in the blower motor - leaves, toothpicks, paper from around a straw.
The constant flow-thru ventilation system kept the blower on low range, at one time.
May still do so.
