I am replacing the clutch in my truck. When I seperated the transfer case from the transmission what looked like cooked grease came out of the female splined shaft of the transfer case.
Do I just clean it up real good and put a healthy coat of grease on both shafts splines etc. I had already drained the fluids but some came out when I seperated it. Does the union get oil from one or the other or is it just greased?
If so what kind of grease is recommended?
