I came across 2 new 599 shortblocks on Ebay. They are brand new, never run or installed.
Hope someone can snag them at a decent price.

This short block will fall in place of my current tired 6.5 in my 95 K3500???
I hope (but doubt) it's true and that they are from a reputable seller. That's some pretty old iron (10 years) to have laying around...

Found the auction in question.
I have one of these shortblocks just like pictured in the auction that I purchased 8 months ago from another seller. I won't say what I paid for it, but I wanted it for a couple of reasons.
1. It's a 599 cast 6.2, meaning it's a 6.2 that has the single piece rear main seal.
2. Because it's a 6.2 and a 599 cast it can be bored out to 6.5 spec's down the road if necessary, or, leave it 6.2 bore and have the thickest cylinder walls of any of these engines.
The shortblock I've got sitting in the shop (exactly what you're seeing in the auction) is a plain engine, no cam just block and crank, rods, and pistons.
This engine would be a GREAT canditate for dis-assembling and splaying the mains, this way, you start out with a crack free block, that when strengthened will not crack and you can rebuild it many times...
These engines are most likely left overs from dealer stock, mainly because no one is going to want to purchase a SHORTBLOCK for a replacement engine, and still pay the piper for heads, cam, lifters, pushrods, etc.
What is the julian date of your casting?
My concern would be that it was a reject from the dyno test performed before they ship.

I think it's a legit engine, but you've got my attention though..
I'll get the no. off the block tonght and post it here.
Where did it come from (geographical approximation ie: Brooklyn) if I might ask???

Neosho, Wi
That kinda rules out my first fear although there are likely numerous resellers in various locations with the "suspect" stuff.
