How long will electronic injection pump last?

Not counting the FSD,we all know they are junk but can easily be replaced with a few mods, How long can we expect the IP to last? Also how long before it starts acting up before it leaves you stranded?
Will the mechanical IP last significantly longer?

I got about 99K miles on my first one. In 2001 it was replaced under warrenty the replacement has about 84K miles on it so far. I've only had one problem with the new one see this thread for that fix "FSD Didn't Fix It" (http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=006367).

I replaced my OPS when I had the intake off too.

I think that more of our 94 and up 6.5TD issues are wiring issues rather than InjectionPump / FSD issues, but most people/shop swap things out to fix things these days.

I do think the battery cables and grounds are major issues on these trucks.

First I/P replaced under warranty @ 116K. Second pump still running after another 170K. (286k total)

First IP replaced under warranty at 75K. Second still running at 220K total, so 145K on second pump.

Truck #1 IP replaced at 60K under warranty - still running strong at 150K.

Truck #2 IP replaced at 40K under warranty - ran to 125K when crankshaft failed. 50K on replacement engine IP.

All three trucks had warranty IPs early in life. Two are 1994s, third is 1997. GM Product Managers must cringe at the 6.5 Standyne pump debacle!

151K on original pump. I'm on my second engine with the same pump. Have used Stanadyne Blue in every other tank since I bought the truck with 72K. I keep a spare on the shelf.

85,000 on the original. 47,000 so far on the replacement. I'm in the process of adding a fuel filter pre-lift pump to hopefully extent the life of the IP and lift pump.

Mechanical IP. Original pump went 90,000 miles. Replacement has now went 130,000 miles.
