Has any one changed a 96 or later to std shift?
How did you get rid of codes in PCM when Auto Transmission Plugs that went to PCM are disconnected

(PCM-Power Control Module,-- Shiny silver box)

Did you change the PCM to a STD shift unit or reprogram the PCM Or just live with any
codes/ENG Lite.

Was the wiring the same at the PCM Assuming a change to STD PCM

I am still considering aseperate Trany controller
to allow better control of tran, It requires removing all Tran elect plugs and plugging into Control unit ( TCI unit ).

(Which I do all the time...)

A PCM for the manual trans vehicles will directly interchange, connector for connector, long as you stick within the series - 1500 and some 2500 get EGR, some 2500 and most 3500 do not.

The 4wd version is looking for input from the transfer case switch to remap the engine\drivetrain rpm and such.

Can be picked up at a local boneyard for around 125 bucks.
