My '94 K2500 342K miles, usually fires right up. Batteries are due but I've kept them on a maintainer. Fuel filter likely due for replacement. Check Engine light flashed randomly a few times last week. Today typical start up:Glow plug light came and went, fuel pump working; ran rough for about 10 seconds and stalled. Will not run. I've never replaced IP. So, what are IP failure symptoms? Other possibilities? Thanks in Advance!

It sounds more like air, or an obstructed/stopped fuel supply system, for whatever reason. A noisy fuel lift pump does not mean it's moving fuel, or that fuel is going where it should. Start with a fresh fuel filter and priming, and treat it as though it's air-locked (probably is, or will be).

An IP failure is usually gradual, over hours, days, weeks, or months, with more profound symptoms. If it started normally and ran, for however long, the IP and GP systems are more than likely OK.

Don't rule out shenanigans, if the truck is accessible to strangers, or rodents/pests.

Thank You. Just as you suggested, fuel filter and purge did the trick. Much appreciated.
