1997 6.5 3500 dually 4x4

How will this truck pull a TT at 8000 loaded? A friend is looking at a dodge V10,Chevy 454, and the Chevy 6.5 all in a 3500 series dually. The only difference is the cab config. I thought both gassers would be more powerfull but he really wants a diesel and doesn't have a problem with mods with in reason. Opinions?

Very well, I think.I have a 3/4 ton with the 6.5 and a 8000 lb trailer and mine does excellent.4.10 gears as his truck will have.I had a 454 and this truck pulls a little better,in my opinion.Plus the benefits of better milage.Go with the chevy.Just one guys opinion.
