According to my research, the vanes and/or unison ring aren't able to move their full range. It or they could be fouled/dirty/broken, or it could be a solenoid issue. I'd start with cleaning the solenoid contacts, and checking the harness for any damage (easiest to access, I'd imagine). What remains in internal to the turbo.

What did you order? $35? $500? Something else?

I understand the 425K miles. Not really much to complain about.

I ordered the cheap one..10 days to get to me so this morning Ill take the oem sensor out and clean it to get
a few more miles out of it....*update*..I pulled the original and all looked ok, the "plunger" was free floating...
I hit it with some cleaner anyway...I dont think thats the problem, but the new one is 9 days away..

found this link and it didn't make me feel any better...possible turbo replacement...the one in the truck now
is a rebuilt....

any thoughts on another rebuilt turbo?? sources? I have 425,000 miles on the truck..

the new sensor has a more harder to depress spring than the OEM..

Is that a good thing? Was the OEM sensor just tired? Did it fix anything? Do extraterrestrials really like peanut butter candy? Inquiring minds want to know.
