I used a 1/2 by 13 tap to clean the threads on one side of my 6.5 block before I found out it was metric. Do they make 1/2” head bolts? A 1/2” bolt will go through the head.

Hi
The head bolts used on the 6.2-6,5 are a torque to yield bolt.
To answer your question, you may find some for a different engine the right lenght in 1/2 inch but who would know if they would give the same clamping pressure as the ones designed for the 6.2/6.5.
ARP makes studs for engine headbolts which might be an option
My guess is you are going to need to replace the block to get a reliable engine that lasts. Head gasket issues are a real problem with the 6.2/6.5 and it doesn't take much to have issues.
You might get lucky and find some that work, and never have a problem. But you may go through all the work and cost of assembling the engine, just to have a failure down the road.
Were you just changing heads or gaskets? Or a complete rebuild?

Putting on new heads after a blown gasket and a cracked head.

I have ordered studs from ARP for both sides. Metric on one side and SAE for the other.

Make sure you read the thread about them that More Power posted.
I hope that works for you.
And please post your what happens, good or bad as information helps everyone

If all you're doing is running an SAE tap down the metric threads, I'd be very concerned that the resulting threads would be strong enough.

I got the truck running in April. I have put about 1,000 miles on it with no issues.
