I pulled the oem bulbs out and installed what I thought was a yellow LED bulb, but
These bulbs aren’t very bright if at all. Is there something I need to add to
Brighten up the lights?

LED alternates are fairly straight forward. They work or they don't (other system issues aside), and there's essentially nothing you can do to change their output. DRL lamps aren't supposed to illuminate anything, just be seen. What's the comparable incandescent wattage, lumen, or candlepower rating? Are they both the same?

In my 2001, the DRL lamps ran hot... Hot enough to distort the plastic housing a bit - till the bulbs burned out. I've thought about installing LEDs... Let me if know they work and what the bulb number is... Thx

Jim,
I replaced the sockets and purchased LED DRLs. The socket failure is extremely common. Once I got the sockets replaced and the new bulbs in, I changed the flasher to one made for LEDs. Works awesome. I probably could look up the part numbers if you need them. All parts came from Amazon.
I agree with Dmax. There isn't any "Brightness Control" for these LEDs.
