In January 2020 my '94 K2500 with 324,178 miles blew a head gasket. I posted here 'Save or Sell?' Several of you encouraged me to 'Save' the beast. I did. The initial quarantine in 2020 enabled me to wrench the Burb back to health. On November 30, 2021 she rolled 10,000 miles since the 'save'. 334,178 miles and counting. No regrets. Thanks for the encouragement!

That's awesome!

My 1995 Tahoe blew a head gasket at 376K miles this past July. I just finished a complete rebuild on a newer engine and got it back on the road last week. I hope to get another 376K miles out of the ol' girl!

Impressive! I wish I still had my '95, (pic above) but it's now long gone. Salt on the roads really limits how long we can reasonably keep things on the road here.

Good for you! My daughter often reminds me how saving a vehicle is a "green" investment.

Indeed... The carbon cost to produce the vehicle was significant. It's hard to make that up if it's recycled and replaced with another new vehicle, even one that gets 2x the fuel economy.
