Howdy
Can anyone tell me the oil path in the 6.5?
Starting in the pan, then pump, then filter, then cooler, then block???

IIRC it's pan, pump, filter, cooler, and then block block. 6.5's the cooler lines mount to the block above the filter. The route the you mentioned might be correct for the gassers that have the oil cooler ports made into the filter mount.

my nationally known brand name computerized repair info states oil flow from pump to cooler to filter then to engine. have found much incorrect info with this system in the 8 years i have had it so dont doubt your reply.
I think you are both correct. I looked at the "diegram" in my GM Manuals, the '89 6.2L and '94 6.5L books have the same lousy drawing. It clearly shows oil from the cooler returning to the filter, BUT there are bypass valves that could separate the flow from the pump into two streams, one to the filter and the other to the cooler.
