Loose shifter

I have a problem with my shifter, When I put it in park, It comes back at me and I have to push it forward to be able to remove my keys. Its like maybe a bad spring or a weak
one, Can anyone help me. 2003 2500 hd

I had a gasser like that
I tried adding a shim behind the spring which didn't help
Sold the truck before i took another crack at it.I really can't see the spring being the problem...

It could be the spring, but more likely a cracked/broken pin-boss at the lever pivot. The pin may have backed out, as well. It doesn't take much at all to loosen enough to negate the spring. Pull back the boot and get a closer look. Check for excessive movement with it locked in P.

Top 2 coils of the spring was broke, GM don't the spring had to replace the control. GM part #26092432. Problem fixed. thank you
