Hello I have a 1989 Chevy Silverado 1500 2 wheel drive 6.2 diesel I’ve been have some trouble with the temp gauge the last few days I have the half crescent style gauges now what’s been going on is once the truck is running the temp gauge slowly pegs out to hot now I know the engine isn’t over heating I just replaced t stat about a month ago and because of the gauge problems I’ve been the last couple days I just replaced the temp sender for the gauge and still doing the same thing if you unhook the temp sender wire gauge drops right down to nothing hook it back up pegs full when truck is up to temp when you start the truck first thing in the morning temp gauge slowly rises to Peged hot I have no reason to believe the truck is actually over heating it runs fine I can grab the rad hoses when trucks up to temp and they are not that hot also I have an inferred thermometer I can point at engine and it tells me the truck is not over heating as well Any insight would be appreciated as to what direction to know next thanks
