just installed guages. boost is 0 @idel gose to 5 @ 60mph and drops to 0 when I set cruise tranny @ 170 EGT @ 550

Think that sounds about right! What kinda boost do you get on an incline? Congrats, step 1 in edging toward the money pit smile.gif edit: Next - search on the homemade Boost fooler threads - I'm sure they're still out there.

about 2-3 empty 9500# Haven't loaded bed or hooked to trailer yet. still trying to figure out rattle when it shifts gears?

Sounds right. I switched to mobile1 Synthetic ATF and a maghytech pan and my tranny temp dropped 25-30*. Pulling a heavy load I normally run about 175-180* and no load at 140*. EGTs got much lower with better exhaust and boost increase.
Right now I run about 14psi max, at 1800rpm cruise I am running about 3-4psi.
