Coolant pump

I had the '97 cooling mods installed on my 6.5 when it was rebuilt last fall. It appears that the coolant pump has failed already. One mechanic told me that it is very difficult to change the pump.."I think you have to remove the whole front cover" he said. Just wondering how difficult it really is.

if you mean the waterpump only the top half of the front cover has to come off .it's not too bad of a job as the only things hooked to the bolts of the pump are the vacuum pump and one p.s. bracket,and the oil fill tube.

Truck #1's water pump seized at 70MPH last summer, basically exploding into peices and took the fan and radiator with it. Count your blessings!!!
