Stock 97 Fan Clutch Engagment / Cooling Mods

I'm not sure what others experienced with the 97 fan clutch, but since doing the upgrades to cam gears with the package I hear the fan clutch engage when my temps start to approach 190-195 and it pulls the temp back down to just under 190 as the fan noise subsides.

The previous stock fan setup (1995) would easily wait until temps were over 200-205 degrees before I heard the fan engage. Maybe I just lucked out, but the 97 clutch with the Duramax fan is a real sweet combo.

I just put the a new 1997 GM fan clutch and 20"fan on also and it kicks in at 197* and disengages at 180. Using Autometer temp gauge. FYI

Are these the GM Part numbers for the clutch & fan you installed?:

Fan Clutch 15022302 retail $95.56 whsl $66.89
Fan Blade 15992650 retail $32.50 whsl $24.38

-or is the clutch or fan a newer part number?
Your listing of the cooling mods & prices is very helpful! LOve to have part #s & sources for the whole list, if you have time.
Any idea how the 97 Clutch & Dmax fan stacks up to the stock clutch or the Hayden 2832 with the stock fan on a 92? The GM clutch on the 92 lists for $403, with a best found price of about $237- very pricey, with no upgrade advantage. JK clutches are $250, Bill Heath's is $167, Pep Boys sells the Hayden 2832 for $199, but none can compare with the GM prices for the 97+ clutch & fan.
Lifetime warranties don't cover the hassel of R&R, & the GM parts seem to have performed well. Tweaking the spring for the desired temperature is well documented & very easy, and even supported by Hayden tech support, so your parts win out there too....
It's been 107F here in Colorado lately, but winter will be upon us & it gets cold at 11,000 feet in the Rockies- I'd like to run at 180F. My wallet likes to run as far above empty as possible...
