Engine loss of power when it gets hot . I believe it is lack of fuel . I read that this model has certain flaws due to excess heat . Does this mean once that pump or control heats up it dies ? Or does it run intermittingly until it cools off again . I believe it to be fuel related also because when it does this a do not leave large clouds of black smoke .

sounds like pmd/fsd failure go to search and you will find all kinds of info on it good luck

No smoke is good. How hot is hot? The engine ECM cuts back fuel when it thinks it's going to melt down.
Has the SES light ever come on?

the temp gauge reads about 190. the engine will cut out upon acceleration .i can let it idle and it will be o.k. .that is why i wondered if the pmd is bad will run intermittently . when i read the codes with a snap on scanner the only code is 81 . the scanner tells me it is the waste gate solinoid valve .

if your getting a wastegate code check there first ,see what you have for vacuum at the wastegate, they are notorious for breaking those plastic hoses to and from the solenoid.

My 95 Factory Service Manual says DTC 81 is

The loss of power under load but normal idle seems like a failed lift pump or oil pressure sensor (search on OPS). I think you are looking for about 1.5 -2 lbs under load. I would check the lift pump pressure during a full throttle sprint. Heath diesel has a nice kit if you don't have an accurate fuel pressure guage.

i was checking vacumn at the waste gate . should there be vacumn at an idle or only when there is excessive boost ? does only apply vacumn to open the waste gate or vacumn all the time ?

If you have a vacuum guage then the reading should be about 20" at the waste gate with the truck idling. You should not be able to move the waste gate rod when the truck is running.

Heat over time can kill the waste gate solenoid.

Good Day!

All of the following assumes a bone stock truck.

The Wastegate Actuator increases boost with increased applied vacuum, from the vacuum pump through the Wastegate Actuator Solenoid. If vacuum goes away, so does boost. If this were the case, you
