More Power

Here's an email I received a few days ago... Any ideas?
1998 K2500, I just finished my rebuild. Runs great, except for no Tachometer. I traced the problem to the 11" Harness, I had left over. It is an adapter wire with two different connectors, one end plugs into the bottom of my alternator, this is for the Stock Alternator, the other end goes to a wiring loom, somewhere.
I have tagged everything near the Passenger side Front of the Engine, so as not to revisit their end connection. I have not found an unconnected connector anywhere. Only thing I can come up with, is the connector must be buried somewhere, but where. I don't even know where the loom comes from.
Any help, as to where to search for this elusive connector, would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lynn
