Been browsing the net getting ideas for a conversion to mech injection and came across this company that makes the 4L80E into a manual shift only unit. Any of you ever use one of these units, or have any thoughts pro, or con about it?

Another thing that may be an issue in my conversion is the Active on Demand transfer case NP246, it uses three speed sensors and control unit. There seems to be limited, to no information on this t-case, any help here would be welcome!

Yeah, those are the Louisiana guys that build my Raptor, replaced it six times under warranty, and damaged my suburban during a test drive. They're a "great" outfit.

The auto transfer case throws another wrinkle into the mix when converting to mechanical fuel injection.

I think you'll be looking at installing an NP-241 manual transfer case if you convert. The various computers and control modules are all interconnected and communicate via the CanBus serial data system.

MP Thanks for this input, do you know if the NP241 is a direct bolt into my burb, or?

If the NP-241 was mated to a 4L80-E (or TH400) originally, it'll mate exactly. I don't know if the input shaft is different when originally mated to a 4L60-E or TH700R4.

Incidentally, the 241 was used in the '88-up GM full-size 4WD 1500/2500/3500 trucks & Subs.

I am not sure of the years but GM used a BW t case in the 3500's. My '96 had one and I know of othere with them as well.
