Sounded like a new topic; you mentioned a coupla sets of aluminum head sets in service for an extended period. What are the advantages? Better heat scavanging to coolant?
Who supplies these?

The alum heads are/were prototypes - essentially duplicates of the GM cast iron versions with cooling passage mods. One set uses conventional Fel-Pro gaskets, and the other uses compression and oil/coolant O-rings (gasketless).

I'm pressing for data/info that would indicate whether they offer any benefits over iron. Cost would be about the same as GM OEM cast iron if there was a market for them.

There have been no problems with either set in the two years of use. I'm supposed to be getting some pics of the installed heads before long.

Sounds good - o-rings should take care of that odd, staggered 5-bolt clamping system.
I could never figure how that sealed so well, even allowing for extreme casting rigidity.
There are fairly huge gaps across several areas around the cylinder bores.
