Do the following Bar Code No's on a PCM mean anything to anyone, or can you direct me to someone who would know?.

1) there are sites where you can look up parts by part # & get at least some info. Try gmpartsdirect.com. Anybody know some others?
2) might try posting what you are trying to do w/the PCM, e.g. trying to put a '94 PCM in a '98 coach, or trying to put an unidentified pcm in a cobbled together project truck... Lotsa hobbyists reading these posts w/prior experiences.

I have a'98 L56 which had this PCM supplied with it. Attempting to fit in our '79 C20. However the PCM is marked (with a paint pen) "96 6.5TD" but has the bar codes noted on it. I'm trying to find out what I've got, & if it's compatible with the engine I've got.

Aussie the PCM should be compatible but you will need to do the theft code learn and TDC offset learn that is all I had to do to mine to make the L65 PCM work on my L56 engine, been running with a L65PCM for 2 years now; you might want to try a 99-2000 vintage though, it has the improved power program that is nearly a duplicate of the
re-flashes you see for $600, I got almost exact result of a reflash; $150 boneyard vs. the reflash cost plus core charge.

Thank you all, it helps; I'd noted the comments re the 99 up pcm in other articles.
Have also seen articles on disabling EGR; & improving the flow through the intake manifold. Can anyone point me to these please?

i have a question that i hope someone can answer, i have a 97 sub without anti-theft and i want to install a 2000 pcm. can this be done or will the pcm lock out because of the lack of theft signal. if the programing is the same as the reflashed units a used late model pcm is a lot cheaper. or is the extra cash for the retrofit programing
