View Full Version : Alternator Charging Output ???
I have a 93 6.5
Does anyone know what the alternator output should read @ Idle and also @ 2000 RPMS ?
Volts and Amps Please
Thanks
Billy V
100 or 105 amps depending on alt, 14.5 volts. Shouldn't vary within the 2k range.
Billy,
Alternators are rated for full load at some RPM.
At idle with a 100 load box, i would be surprised if you see over 60 amps. At 2000 rpm you should see the full 100 that you are pulling.
Thanks Guys
I'm getting a reading of 14.20 volts and 103 amps.
the truck has been sitting for awhile soo it was hard to crank, the batterys were just a little low on charge.
