6.5 marine diesel rebuilds engines

Hello Im a newbie to this site but looks like the right place for some help on 6.5 GM diesel. These engines are out of my boat the blocks numbers 12555506 yr # I think 08 03/08 09 these #'s are stamped on the back of the blocks opposite side of the engine #. The numbers on heads 10137567 can someone help me with the year of these engines and if they worth rebuilding.

Thanks so much for your help.
Engines are 6.5 made Aug 03 2002 with 18.1 pistons these are the <> Blocks so I'm very lucky now the rebuild starts.

You may have lucked out. Still, inspect them as carefully as you would any engine block. Also, Peninsular Diesel (http://www.peninsulardiesel.com) is an excellent source for parts, especially marine.
