Lack of power

Random power loss at highway speeds under light load. Uphill under medium to light throttle input the truck surges. When up to temp is when it acts normal. But if the truck has been running all day is when it acts up the most. Injector pump?
Head gasket? I go to college and i cant just be throwing money at it. Especially after redoing the whole front end.

Do you have a boost gauge ? And have you scanned the codes

At an idle, using your hand on the pedal, try to bring the rpm up to about 1000rpm and hold it steady for 10 seconds. Then go up to 1500 hold steady for 10 then back down to 1000 for 10. If it wants to hunt and wonder then you might have IP issues.
Does the truck throw any codes? What does the boost gauge tell you when this is happening? Is you transmission behaving normally?
