Smoke problem

Hey guys, I just joined to see if you would have any suggestions for me. I have a 6.2 diesel that I have had for about a year. It's a 82 and has almost 200k on it. But recently I upgraded to a 96 6.5 with 282k. My problem is when I start the 6.5 after its been sitting all night it starts within 2 or 3 cranks but just smokes like a chimney. And miss fires and chugs. It will do this for about a minute or 2 if you don't idle it up. My 6.2 doesn't smoke near as much. I just replaced the batteries in it. Got new injectors in. Still doesn't seem to help anything
Want to know what else I can do. Fyi just ordered new duraterm glow plugs for it. But the glow plugs in it were replaced about a year and a half by the previous owner.
