View Full Version : Fuel Priming Help
First time post, I have a GMC K2500 pickup. I ran out of gas on the freeway yesterday when my fuel tank selector valve failed to switch tanks. I did not know I had to prime the engine to get it started. Its now sitting in my driveway and I would really like some insight into maybe an easy solution like a bleed valve location? or am I going to have to bleed the injectors one by one?
Hi
Bummer running out of fuel.
Getting the system air free is a minor annoyance, but not that hard.
Energize the lift pump and get fuel flowing from the air bleeder on the filter.
Remove the glow plugs and spin the engine until you get fuel mist blowing out of the plug holes.
Replace glow plugs and start as normal.
This method is easiest on the batteries and the starter
Good luck
No luck, I got them blowing mist put them back on and tried to start and it would not. I also bled the injectors and that also did not work.

Howdy
If you have fuel, air and compression....it should start.
Make sure you have charged up batteries and that your glow circuit is working.
