What's the best way to find a Block Heater cord ? Just had a new AM Genral block put into my H1 and they cut the block heater cord during install, I cant find any local places that have them in stock.

Where was it cut--do you need the entire cord+plugs each end? If it was cut during install was possibly under tension. Check the prongs on the heater; recheck after top up coolant for leaks. The connector at heater end must have spring contact each power pin, the connections eventually degrade. The cords have high temperature insulation; the first 12-18" from the block is additionally sheathed in insulating foil. You could probably splice a hearty extension cord to the heater cord if extends 18" from block. All NAPA dealers have access. Truck parts shops might be cheaper. Doubt you could get just a cord. Strongly suspect most heaters made by same company; the connector does seem to be standardized.
