Howdy
Replacing the glowplug harness on my sons 1993 6.5.
The PO had a glommed up mess of wires hacked in, so we found and cleaned up a good actual harness with proper connectors.

On the driver side of the harness that we have there are two wires that come off of the glow harness AFTER the fusible link. So these two wires will supply 12v when the glow plugs are lit.
Where do the wires go?
Do they run the lift pump?
If so what prevents the lift pump from running the glow plugs?
Diode in line someplace?
Thanks!!!

I think one of wires is to power the 'glow plugs/wait to start' light on the dash. Not sure on the other one.

There is no electrical circuit shared between the glow plugs and the lift pump.

You may have a glow harness made for a 1994+ electronic system, but I agree that one of the questioned wires/connector is for the wait to start lamp circuit.

So after he cleaned up some of the wiring he found some original harness parts and the two wires were there as well. I would assume we should hook them up?

The 1993 model truck did not have a lift pump run circuit from the glow cycle?

Thanks!

IIRC (it's been 13 years) the lift pump runs when the engine has oil pressure and when the starter solenoid is energized.
