I have a project I've been tinkering with and I would like to ask this forum for suggestions.
I put a 1985 GM Goodwrench 6.2 into my 1976 IH Scout.
Due to restraints of engine bay space I have opted to use an electric fan to cool the radiator/motor.
Where would be the best location to install a single wire temp sensor to turn the electric fan on? Or is there a sensor that I could "piggyback" on?
Thank you for your time.

Howdy
I have an electric fan set(2) on my 1986 K5. I bought the kit because it came with a very nice easy to use control module. This allowed me single wire hook up for remote switch, coolant temp or block temp. It also had time delays and run-after timers. Very rugged and well thought out.
I opted for the sensor that mounted in the radiator by the inlet. This summer will be the test to verify how well the system works. I may end up moving the temp sensor. It should be easy enough to "T" off the head temp sensor for that option.

My reason for using electrics is that I have trouble getting up to a good operating temp in the winter. This truck has an HD 4 core radiator and no AC in front of it. Also has a ram air system. So in the winter when it is -30 the engine struggles to get over 150. So blocked off the rad and use the electrics works for winter, the verdict is still out for warmer conditions.

Hope this helps.
