GM says no additional lubricant is necessary, but......

One is designed to resist burning. The other is designed to burn cleanly. 2 cycle oil, without a doubt. Also, make sure to use TWC3 oil. It's for water/liquid cooled engines and designed to function at lower temps than air cooled engines. I use it regularly.

What would be the advantage to using 2 cycle oil over using a product designed specifically to lubricate injectors?

I have a tech tip titled Duramax Injector failures that outlines my recommendations:

Do you have to buy a whole case of total power fuel treatment?

Do you have to buy a whole case of total power fuel treatment?

We learned the hard way many years ago that shipping anything short of a nested case will result in a lost pkg. Not only do you lose the contents of the compromised container, but you also lose the entire contents of the pkg as a hazmat cleanup follows. We do have a mixed case available that is 1/2 TP and 1/2 8+ cetane if that helps. Many split with friends/family/neighbors etc. Shelf life is indefinite as well.

If you 1x treat ratio at say 15 mpg average you'll get 45,000 miles from a case

2x treat ratio will get you 27,500 miles from a case or you can choose a ratio in between

I've found FPPF Total Power at a local ranch supply store. It's about $18/quart, but it treats 250 gallons.

I would pay off the truck before I would go through a cast of total power additive. So unfortunately a case just is way to much for me, but I understand your reasoning for only shipping a case. Thanks

CAL Ranch. Not sure if there's one close to Spokane or not though.

I emailed the local sales rep for FPPF products to see if it's available in Spokane. Kenworth sales on east Broadway has it. So you mix total power and 8+ Cetane 1-1 and add 1/8oz per gallon of fuel?
