View Full Version : Ted's Pull Outs
Ordered a pull out from Ted's ,should be delivered on Monday. It is supposed to be Navistar 506 motor with less than 40.000 miles.Anybody have any experience with these motors? J.R.
Take a look at the date code on the block.
The first 2 digits are the month followed by the second two digits for the day
06 10 J = June 10th 2002
The 506 casting number has remained the standard casting number since AMG took over the 6.5
The letters are in chronological order with K being 03 and then L, M ,N , O, P AND SO FORTH
Anything with an H or later is an AMG block (H was 2001)
The Navistar logo (Diamond) is cast into the valley
These also have the 506 as the last 3 of the casting ##
See what is on the engine and let us know.

Got my engine home today and took a closer look,03 27 k date code,i'll take a stab at it and say mar 27 2003. it has double diamonds in the valley and big oil ports.clean as a whistle inside and good bill of health with it.I'm stoked, ready to install, first mod's are pmd relocate and hi flo w.p. and dual thermo,s. I am changing to a solid flywhheel set up,dual mass mess is toast .First diesel of my own,but did a lotta research, thinkn I got a handle on it.any advice would be greatly appreciated. J.R.
