Oil consumption

My 6.2 diesel consumes 1 liter of oil 15w40 every 2,500/3000km .... a bit too in your opinion?

I converted your figures to get something that makes sense as this is a US Site.

2500 Km is about 1500 miles around here.

1 liter is close to a quart.

So 1 quart of oil per 1500 miles. That isn't that bad, it's got some wear, leaks etc. but not intolerable.

When one uses a quart/liter of oil per 500 miles or 804 Km then it's a real problem.

Different oil's a better than others on the engine's consumption.

I've been running Mystic and in the last two years I've noticed accelerated oil consumption, I'm going to swap to something else. Suggest something like Delo 400, but I have no idea what you have available in another country.

I'm sorry you're right ...... miles .... 2500km equal 1500miglia. my engine is not leaking oil well in the cold, the oil definitely consuming it, I can not know how many miles has the engine, then is not that excessive consumption? I ask you why you have so many of these engines, here in Italy there are so many .... ☺

My 6.5L has 300,000 miles on it now, and is using about 1 quart every 1,000 miles. That's a little higher than "normal", but it also has a lot of miles.

Anything less than 1 quart in 1,500 miles would not give me any concern.

CaseyThank you so much for having responded to me, I my pick up I do not know how many miles ha.ma unfortunately I realized it does not consume so much oil. the end is always a (old) 8-cylinder .....
