Howdy
Talking to a person selling a 1989 6.2 with a 4L80E...? I did not know that they used those in that combination? I thought they had the 700R4?
Can anyone clarify?
Sorry this is in the wrong area...Maybe someone can move it for me....

Thanks!!!!
Happy thanksgiving!

I really doubt that someone would put the computer controlled 4L80E into a 6.2 powered rig - if it is, it certainly didn’t come from the factory that way.

Hi,
I've owned my 1991 6.2L suburban from day one and I ordered it from the factory and it came with a 4L80E.

Hmmm… Interesting. I’d have thought they wouldn’t have put the computer controlled transmissions behind mechanically injected engines.

Until the 1994 M/Y, they were all MFI. The 4L60E and 4L80E were both in service behind 6.2 and 6.5 engines since about 1990.

I had just assumed that until they went to EFI, they used the 700R4. But I guess the gassers already went to EFI so it made sense to go to the electronic transmissions as well across the line.
