Squealing noise

I have a squealing noise coming from what I think is a belt pulley. I have already changed the belt tensioner and alternator. The squealing noise is more profound when I press on the accelerator and quieter during idle. The noise stops when I press on the brake. Any ideas?

Use a long screw driver or pry bar and put it to your ear on the handle end then touch the other end to where you suspect problem. Use it like a stethoscope to locate where the noise is coming from.

If pressing on the brake stops the noise, then the noise is likely related to the power steering pump or the hydro booster brake unit.

Sounds like a pressure relief valve bypassing.
