Temp sensor wire

I need your help, I went through a couple conversions with my truck and Ive seem to have lost a wire. I went from a 6.2 to a 305 to a 6.5 turbo. I am looking for the wire that runs to the temp sensor on the driver's side head and controllers the in dash gauge. Can someone please tell me the colour and where it comes out of the fire wall? I can't seem to locate it anywhere an i am the type to watch my gauges, so id like it to be functioning.

It is a single dark green wire. Tomorrow I'll see if I can find out which pin it comes out from on the fire wall. What year truck are you working on?

1987 GMC 1/2 ton sierra 4x4, originally came with a 6.2 diesel.

Sorry I only go back to 1995, I tossed all my wiring diagrams for early models a while ago. I suggest a looking in a reference section of a library.
