I have a 1990 Suburban V1500 4x4, I was wondering about taking out the 350 for a 6.2 diesel. How can I do it? I have been asking a few guys that I know about it and they said just sell it and geta suburban with a diesel however, I had put a lot into the vehicle and its not easy for me to let go.

It’s a pretty simple swap with a mechanically injected 6.2. The basic details are posted here: http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showthread.php?t=27827
Best bet would be to find another Suburban or parts truck with a diesel in it. There were some differences with the diesel equipped vehicle including larger radiator, hydroboost, different torque converter, etc.
Also, be prepared for a drop in performance from the 350 unless you plan to also install a turbo.

I'm not worried about performance. Just fuel economy. Also I have a gear ratio where my acceleration is quick. The engine's Rpm goes high before a quick shift on the 1st gear, 2nd and then 3rd
For best fuel economy, you'll want to swap in either 3.43 or 3.08 gears. Also, look for heads with smaller precombustion chambers often found in 1985 and older 6.2's.
