I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a NV4500 out of a 93 K2500 454 Big block gasser would work in a 93 K2500 with the 6.5 TD? Need to know asap

I would think if it is an NV4500 and not the NV3500 it would work. Check the spline count and diameter of input shaft.

The transmissions should be the same. If anything, it would be the clutch and flywheel that might be different.

The guy said it says NV4500 right on the side.

Call Drivetrain.com tech support at 702 810-3100 they can nail it down for you.
You will have two options for flywheel and pressure plate. Duel Mass or solid. Get the correct disk and pressure plate for the one your going to use.

I’ve never seen one with the designation cast into it, so I’d sort of wonder about that.

My 94 had an ID plate on the side of it.

Hey Slicer, I was on craigslist today and there was a 1995 dually with a 6.5 and nv4500 in the auto parts section with front clip damage for like 900 bucks. I think it was on the billings craigslist. No pics but sounded like a pretty good deal.

I think some of the later 90's NV4500's for the 6.5 have a damper built on to the output shaft going into the transfer case on the 4WD and the yoke had a damper on a 2WD. These dampers were for trucks with a solid flywheel instead of a dual mass.

My mechanic said their all basically the same, he took one off a dodge and put in a chevy had to drill out the mount bolts though.
