A/C Fan

Hi,
When I put on my air conditioner on high fan after about one minute the fan motor will shut off but all other speeds will still operate. I replaced the fan motor and still have the same problem. Any suggestions on what to look for?

A few other things to check:
Switch issues in the dash, I cant remember how that model switches but I know in the newer trucks they ran high current through the switch and they had a tendency to burn up.
Resistor pack for fan speed control. This is mounted in the air box and can also cause problems.
Relay pack mounted on top of the air box
Some trucks had a connector for the high speed circuit in the fan wire and it could overheat and become a problem as well.
The high speed circuit is separate from the others and it sounds like yours is heat related due to the current draw.

It does sound like it is heat related.
I've already replaced the resistor pack and the switch that selects the fan speeds is new. I'll try the relay pack next.

I would check for faulty connections in the wiring first.
Most of the relays are pretty durable and fixing a connector can be free.

Sorry for a late reply.
I looked the best I could for faulty wiring and found no bad connections.
Changed the relay and all is fine now.
