6.5 quits running at 2800 rpm

96 k3500 new injection pump, new pmd, new fuel filter, new lift pump,

truck fires right up and idles fine, throttle up to between 2800 and 300 and trucks stops running as if key turned off, tried different pmd with same results.

computer shows fuel solenoid staying on return line not plugged im at witts end

also it fires right back up after turning key off and back on

you can drive all around as long you keep rpms below 2800 anything above and it dies

This sounds like a fault in the ECM (Computer) that is reacting to 2800 as though it is an over rev and it cuts power to the Fuel shut off solenoid.

Get a real time scanner on the thing and watch what happens when you reach 2800 RPM

The other thing you can try is to scare up a different ECM and swap into the rig to test things.

This almost has to be a computer issue given the behavior.

if you can find, borrow or ??? an ecm from a truck like yours and swap it out for a test.

But with no codes, its likely a glitch in the ECM
