Sucking crankcase oil into turbo

I wasn't sure what to search on to answer this question. My truck has around 235k and while installing Heath's boost spring kit last weekend (nice unit) I noticed an excessive amount of oil is being sucked through the turbo from the valve cover vent pipe.

Does that check valve ever need replacing?

Is it just blow by in the engine pushing it out?

Is it that until this week my turbo has not been building boost so the balance of power in the universe has been wrong?

Should I worry about it?

It's called a CDR or crankcase depression regulator valve. Just like a pcv on the gassers.
Yes, it does fail. The oil saturates the diaphragm and the spring can't close off the oil passage. Very easy to swap out and only a two min. job.
