my fuel cooler is starting to leak. lovely. the stealer wants close to $1000 to fix.
looking for practical fix it options including bypass as well as possibly a tranny cooler and hose clamps.
Any thoughts

What, exactly, is leaking?
The core is less than $200 just about anywhere, and it takes less than 1/2 hour to R/R. What will they be doing for $1000?

quoting me 409 for the cooler and 336 for the one hose. apparently an hour to change.
I'm not sure if its the couplings or not but i am afraid they will break when i try to undo them

That's crazy! GM list for the cooler is about $240, and a complete fuel line kit (engine to tank) is less than $300 for aftermarket, a little more for OEM, from suppliers such as Rockauto. GM list isn't much more.
If it's already leaking, what's the worry about breaking it on removal? The dealer will break the same part, if it breaks. If you think it may only be a coupling, a closer look is in order.
That said, a failed cooler is extremely rare. I've never replaced one that just leaked (not including couplings), only those with physical damage.

just crawled under truck and its not the coupling or lines. the fuel is coming out of the bottom of the cooler
