Hello,
My 700r4 has cooler lines that attach to the passenger's side of the transmission. This connection is destroyed, and leaks 1 drip per second.
Obviously I can repair the end of the cooler line, but can the brass piece that sticks out of the side of the transmission be replaced? Does this thing (http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/dorman-oe-solutions-transmission-line-connector-800-755/20230066-P?navigationPath=L1*14925%7CL2*15047%7CL3*16280) just unscrew and can be replaced?

Never seen the brass end of the connection damaged. More than likely just a cracked cooler line flare. If the brass part is damaged, I'm almost positive that it does thread out of the transmission. I'm thinking you could buy them (or get a good used one) from a transmission shop.
Like I said, never seen one go bad.
The fitting is female flare to pipe thread in the tranny case.
Most parts houses carry these fittings.
DO NOT use teflon tape on these AT ALL
A piece getting loose can stick valves and raise hell.
Smear a tad bit of Permatex 2 in the threads of the male pipe threaded portion and do not get any inside.
This will seal it fine.
These are low pressure lines, with one coming from the converter to the cooler, and then from the cooler back to the tranny and is a lube feed.

Ugh.. I only put a million feet of Teflon tape on the original problem trying to get it to seal.. Never even thought about that. And that's why I had to replace the transmission to begin with.. Something floating around got stuck in the last one.

It was likely just as you say, a foul connection between the brass and the line, with the error likely being on the line side. But in haste to solve it, I destroyed the brass over tightening the line.
The part I linked to worked, thanks yall
