6.5TD surging&blk smoke

fellows I have a 94 6.5TD 1500 that smoke like a train at take off. it also surges very bad at 50mph. I checked the codes(78)wastegate sol. perform vac. test it seems bad. I noticed that the accuater sticks when vac.is applied then relesed, is this normal? can you help! :confused: Awallofwords@aol.com

What model of truck is it?
If it's a light duty truck it may be the EGR valve
stuck open or it needs some new gaskets.

all you need is a paperclip to get the codes....codes are a good starting point
